Well I started working at Alpharooms.com back at the end of February 2006 so I had just missed the January madness and I’ve waited all year for it to come around again and its looking like its here a little bit early! Now in the travel industry January is the biggest month of the year, there are a few spikes through the year (both traffic and sales) but January is by far the biggest and finally its here.
Over the last 2 months November and December I’ve sat and watches sales fall quite heavily, trying desperately to get things back up again but with nothing working. That time of year im afraid everyone’s credit cards are well and truly tied up on Christmas presents.
January is only 1 day away, and being quite obsessive I check affiliate sales from home quite a lot and over the past 2 days I have seen sales really increase. How much? Just how big is January? Well through affiliates were now doing more sales in a morning than 3x the best day in December and I can only see this getting better I hadn’t expected tings to pick up until next week when people go back to work and start thinking about when they’re going to take their first holiday!
What now? Well if your not involved in travel and don’t have a site in the travel industry chances are you could get some PPC running and make a bit out of this time of year, or a lot depending how much your willing to invest. If you do have a site that’s ranking well make sure your F5 buttons polished, login to your stats page and keep pressing it!
