Hi,

I found you blog after visiting the AF4u affliate website, (sorry if that’s not the correct name) and then saw this post and followed it with interest.

I am new to affiliate marketing but not new to the web as I run as successful web-based travel company, but would like to diversify into affiliate marketing.

I’m good with web sites creation, SEO, feeds, etc, etc but wonder if you could let me knwo if working with Alpharooms would be a good way to begin with Affilaite Marketing.

Any advice you could give would be great.

Thanks,

Colin Maddocks

“Number of search terms isnt as important as it sounds, I can give you our hotel feed and you could just take out all the hotel names and you’ve instantly got 23,000 terms.

If you stick all these in one account and have the ad copy as “23,000 hotels worldwide, we sell hotels, we’re really cheap etc” then for ever hotel that ad will show, its not very relevant and you wont really get anywhere.

If you split the hotels by resort, and group them to say 10 terms per campaign to start with you can monitor whats happening a lot more easily.

It really is quite impressive the difference a good CTR can make in your bid costs so its worth monitoring very carefully as it can make the difference between 60p a clic kand 10p.

How many search terms would somebody generally expect to be bidding on ?

Start with a few, commit to adding in an extra 30 - 40 a week and spend time analyzing things and you can quickly build up an invaluable list”.

Dan,

I read your comment on the “challenge” thread and I am really intrigued about what you have explained. I use Adwords PPC for our travel sites and use Keyword SEO, etc to start each campaign.

I would love to do something similar, using our feed, etc. If you can expand a little on the above I would love to get started!

Colin
