Well its been a while since my last post but the networks have been chosen and set up has started. At the moment its all fairly boring stuff with the networks, filling in contracts, signing duplicates, sending them back and forth etc but all necessary. Tracking is what im after at the moment as we need to get it in place and get it tested – thoroughly.
While all that’s going on I’ve been getting the finer detail of the programmes ready (notice the programmes plural) and chasing up the banner design. We’re a little behind schedule but nothing to worry about yet.
Im now willing to let you all know the merchant – www.vacenza.com it’s a DP (dynamic packing) website owned by Alpha International Accommodation Ltd and offers everything Alpharooms.com does and more. Theres still a lot of work to be done in getting the site working 100% id currently describe it as a turd that needs a good polish. Anyway have a play with the site and let me know what you think, im always open to ideas on how we can improve our sites so that they convert better for you!
The affiliate offering for Vacenza will comprise of two programmes, a package specialist segment and a flight specialist segment and will pay commission as follows:
Flight Specialist:
£3 CPA on all flight sales
5% on all accommodation sales
10% on transfer sales
15% on insurance sales
Package Specialist:
No flight commission
7% on all accommodation sales
10% on transfer sales
15% on insurance sales
Both tiers will offer a £10 CPA bonus if the customer makes a package that includes accommodation (eg. Hotel + flight, hotel + transfer + flight, hotel + insurance).
Why have I complicated things with 2 basic tiers, and why isn’t there any commission on flights with the package specialist tier?
The flights tier is to attract affiliates with flight traffic, I know that affiliates with flight traffic wouldn’t want to promote us if we didn’t offer them anything for their flight sale. £3 CPA is fairly average but one thing that sets Vacenza.com apart is we don’t add a penny to flights. The price you see for an Easyjet flight on Vacenza.com is the same price you see on Easyjet.com.
And that’s exactly the reason we don’t pay a CPA on flights on the other tier, we actually lose money on flight sales via the flights tier. We offer a reduced accommodation commission so that the cross sell of accommodation can then cover this. On the package specialist tier we offer a higher accommodation commission and no flight commission – remember if the customer books a flight and a hotel you get 7% on the accommodation and a £10 package bonus.
Whens all this happening? As mentioned its being worked on as you read this and we’re working hard to get it live so that affiliates can get their teeth stuck into it, realistically we should be live by the end of September / early October so please keep your eye out!
If you have flight traffic or package holiday traffic and haven’t worked with us before please drop me a line, I need your help in learning this new market!
