Its now only 5 days away and im really looking forward to it, trains all booked and im going down on the Wednesday and get into London at about 6 then heading across to the Novotel London Excel where im staying and where the pre event networking party is.
That’s the easy bit! 1 event at one time, the following 2 days are going to be exhausting!
Day 1 (Thursday 25th Oct):
Registration kicks off at 8 which feels a bit early for me, but ill try and make it the hotels on just round the corner after all so can cut out travelling time. The main exhibition opens at 10 and theres an “Our Digital Landscape” session from the CEO of IAB but to be honest ill probably just get straight into the exhibition.
11 till half past, a break, cup of tea and work out where im supposed to be next.
11:30 – Midday is when the real decisions start with 4 main sessions running at the same time. I think im going to start the day with Kris Jones from Pepperjam’s talk about how affiliates and merchants can work together on paid traffic to capture more real estate… after Pepperjam blatantly broke alpha’s t&c’s on numerous occasions last January. But I have it on good authority that hes worth listening to so im going to give it a go plus im trying to get a better feel for the US market as I know nothing about it at the moment!
After lunch 1 – 1:45 an obvious one for me seems like the “What Can Be Learned From The Travel Sector” from Maz CEO of Affiliate Future. More to see what information is being fed back to affiliates and how as a network with a large travel base they see things moving forward.
2 – 3 is a real tough one as im basically desperate to get to all 4. This could be a last minute decision!
3.30 – 4.30 I think “Affiliate Marketing - A Key Ingredient For Your Marketing Mix” should be good, and will be where I am
5 – 6 im torn between “Extreme SEO Q&A” as SEO’s what I always relied on as an affiliate and in an environment that changes so quickly im hoping for an interesting session and “How To Avoid Conflict With Your Affiliates” by Jess to hear her thoughts on best practice.
Then im going to pop off back to the room, ditch all the notes I’ve made, have a bit of a wash, change, wind down a bit (possibly have a quick nap) and have a bit of food before heading off the the Fox for the A4U awards, a few drinks and catch up with some old friends – and hopefully make a few new ones!
And that’s just day one!
