Christmas over, a few of my retail sites did really well and im quit happy with that. I also got enough socks, boxers and deodorant to last me until June so again im quite happy about that. But Christmas day well, its just the eve of something bigger.
It’s a minor nuisance that distracts people from the real action, January. No not the sales, they’re crap, travel sales! I’m actually quite impressed with the number of holidays alpharooms affiliates sold on Xmas day this year and will be in touch with them all when im back at work on the 2nd Jan just to say thanks.
Now how big is January? Well its massive, if you did 2 sales in November you’d do 20 in Jan without trying any harder, put a bit of effort in and you’ll double that number. So for you already established travel affiliates its basically the big pay day.
What do I get so giddy about it? Well if I were your normal, a jobs a job kind of guy I wouldn’t, end of Jan I get my usual pay slip. But I’ve got an excel sheet showing month on month sales since I started at alpha (Feb 06) and it quite simply shows the amazing growth affiliates have produced. And that what I like. I talk to people that 2 years ago didn’t know what a deeplink was, or the difference between phrase and broad match – now they’re setting their own targets of £1m next year and have just treat themselves to a new Jag!
Anyway, its boxing day and I seem to have come home having stole a bottle of port and some blue stilton from my parents house so im going to watch films and enjoy those.
Dan, expecting the biggest January ever
