Credit where credits due, Existem AM who manage the affiliate programme from advancedmp3players.co.uk ran an incentive in the run up to Christmas based on guaranteed prizes.
Id done a few sales from AMP3 before in the past through a very old site, by a few I mean 3 maybe 4 a month, and this was last Christmas. So when I see an incentive promising me a set of Bluetooth speakers absolutely free if I make 20 sales my mind stats thinking, what do I want with bluetooth speakers.
Turns out, I do want. Turns out I can control my laptop from my iphone, play itunes over the bluetooth connection into the living room and out via the bluetooth speakers. Means my laptop isn’t going to get beer spilt on it (again) and means I can position the rather nice small speakers anywhere I want.
How to generate 20 sales from an MP3 player merchant when your not that bothered about getting 200% ROI, or even 10% ROI (lets face it, if I break even on 20 sales it’s a set of £50 speakers free), quite simple really – [mp3 players] and various types / misspellings of that, all on exact. I the run up to Christmas it’s a quick way to deliver results and get a feel for the size of the market, turns out its big.
The result for AMP3? Quick burst of sales and they’re a set of speakers down? Yes, but the thing is I did actually turn a profit on those generic keywords, so lets face it im going to pad that campaign out, brush the dust off my MP3 player site and this time next year ill be aiming at whatever their top prize is for sure.
As a side for other merchants maybe wanting some mouse love im desperate for a Wii (but still too tight) and quite fancy a remote control helicopter (but not a weedy cheap looking one, something that can scare people) as I’ve got a balcony that doesn’t get enough remote helicopter action.
