I’ve just seen a post over at the A4U forum basically asking the masses ‘who should I promote’ and I’ve replied but thought id give a bit of a ‘how I make my choices’ sort of view on here.

Well after remembering I owned a blog I went on holiday and forgot again, after a few tweaks to upgrade bits of it (still loads to do) I thought id do my first real post of the year.

Im not dead. Ive just been sifting through 123-Reg and checking what domains I still own (108 in total) because I had to update my credit card details and realised ive still got a blog, that ive not used for about 7 months.

Christmas over, a few of my retail sites did really well and im quit happy with that. I also got enough socks, boxers and deodorant to last me until June so again im quite happy about that. But Christmas day well, its just the eve of something bigger.

I’ve just read a blog post by Kirsty whos a bit of a leg-end now in the affiliate world and has a great blog. She’s basically been stung by a one sided contract, and at the recent a4u expo there seemed to be a big divide of affiliates who are companies and affiliates who are one man bands and proud of it.

Now ive got a decent size living room, big TV and some spare time I want a Nintendo Wii fit. Really going back to my affiliate roots now – I don’t want to pay for it. I’ve seen an umber of merchants offering them as prizes over the past few weeks in the run up to Christmas but they all seem to be for ‘best affiliate’ or ‘more than £20m in sales’.

It was the Affiliate Future travel event last night and all in all it was a good event. Spoke to a few guys and girls that I’ve met before which is always good but one of the things about the AF events compared to other is the mix of new people.

Been discussed a number of times before and I even had a quick post about them last January here but at a time of year where everyone’s getting a lot of shopping done online and everyone wants to save money they seem to be getting a lot of attention again – and my opinions changed!
