Completely agree with you Dan, a reduction in override can make a big difference in the cost of sale.

Nice to see AW taking this refreshing approach, they're obviously taking a reduction in margin short term but the good will from you and affiliates should mean they get that amount back plus 'interest' over the long term!

Thanks for the nice words mate - much appreciated.

Yeah - a genuine toughie... I can see this going to any of the 6 nominees. Should make an interesting evening - I'm just off to Matalan for my suit!

Hi Gav,

She been moaning that i've been slacking?!

I see your point, but its from a PPC perspective. I dont bid on anything, its all natural traffic from an old fashion site i've got. If they want to get PPC affiliates on board fine offer something for them, and then ill do some PPC as well :)

Im making money with them, like I said its all natural so anythings a profit really, but id make more if I flick it back over to EBTM or Discoo.

I just think recruiting affiliates should be a bit more than doubling a commission and a post on a4u...

In the meantime, dont suppose you've got a M&M direct awin affiliate link you've not used, ill stick it in and split the extra 3% with you :)

I see your point Dan, but if you get a new girlfriend, you can probably afford to buy her a few meals and the odd drink here or there in order to seal the deal - but you probably wouldn't carry on this practice for the rest of your relationship!

Also, increasing comms to existing affiliates probably increases bids on search and makes it more difficult to enter the market - so you can see it from the Merchant's perspective.

Having said all that - I'd be narky if I was in your position too, and I certainly see your point, it's just that it's always difficult to get new affiliates on the programme - I suppose they think you should be happy if you're making a profit anyway.

A good way to get these done is to run a design competition at Sitepoint.

Don't get them to do the coding as there are very few people who can design AND code.

Instead get the final photoshop of Fireworks files and have a look at PSD2HTML.com I've used them on some email stuff and they are sh*t hot.

Hope that's useful
